Housed in 3,200 square feet of a historic Culver City landmark, the interior sprawls an aesthetic steeped in creative eccentricity and French bohemianism — Gucci wallpaper, vintage Takara Belmont chairs, mid-century furnishings that hold their own in every corner. What Should I Expect at My First Visit?

Every visit begins with a real consultation — your hair, your lifestyle, what you’ve been chasing and what hasn’t worked. Your barber is the authority in the room. They ask the right questions, build the plan with you, and confirm it before a single tool is lifted.

What follows is a 60 to 75-minute service: the cut, a wash at the bowl, and a proper style finished the way it’s meant to be seen. Before you leave, you’ll understand exactly how to maintain it at home — which products, which technique, what works for your specific hair. A version of yourself you can return to every morning, not just today.

Do you take walk-ins?

AANUKO is by appointment only, and we strongly recommend booking online. Our seats fill up fast, and booking ahead is the most straightforward way to secure your spot. Walk-ins can sometimes be accommodated if we have space, but availability is never guaranteed.

What's included in a haircut at AANUKO?

Every service begins with a thorough consultation where your barber aligns with you on exactly what you're looking for. They come from a position of authority and expertise, helping you land on the right plan before the service even begins. From there, you get an excellent haircut with both scissor and clipper work as needed, a wash at the bowl, and a finished style tailored to your hair type and the lifestyle you live. Before you leave, your barber walks you through how to keep your hair looking good every day after. It's a 360-degree service.

What if I don't know what I want?

You're in great hands. Our barbers can walk you through it and prescribe a look you may never have envisioned or imagined. Not knowing what you want is completely fine. The consultation exists for exactly this reason, and the result often exceeds expectations or reveals something you didn't know was possible.

What types of hair do you work with?

All of them. AANUKO is widely regarded for taking on a diverse clientele. If you have a very specific style in mind or hair that requires particular expertise, we recommend calling ahead so we can match you with the best barber or stylist for exactly what you're looking for.

How long does an appointment take?

A standard service runs about 60 to 75 minutes. That's intentional. We don't rush our clients, and the time allows us to deliver quality at every step, from consultation through the finished style. Color services and transformative haircuts take longer. Adding a beard service adds roughly 30 minutes. Worth keeping in mind when planning your booking.

Do you offer color services?

Yes. Select stylists on the team offer a full range of color services, including bleach and tone, creative color, all over color, balayage, highlights, root retouch, gloss, and beard color. Not every barber offers color, but you can see exactly who does and book directly through the website. If you're unsure what you want, we offer a complimentary color consultation.

Do you cut women's hair?

Yes, though not every barber on the team handles women's hair. When booking online, it will be clear which stylists specialize in this area. If your hair is below shoulder length, it's especially worth making sure you're booked with the right person.

Can I bring a reference photo?

Absolutely. A reference photo is one of the clearest ways to communicate with your barber, especially where words fall short. A picture makes up for a thousand words. We'd never be anything but glad to see one.

Where do I park?

Street parking is available on Washington Blvd directly in front of the shop and on adjacent side streets. AANUKO does not have a dedicated parking lot. Please note: the Red Cross parking lot next to our building is not available for AANUKO clients.
